One person was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital, and two others were injured following a Saturday morning, July 5, crash at the intersection of Route 8 and McCalmont Road in Butler Township.

Police said Darryl Brown, 64, of Lyndora, was driving a Hyundai sedan when he rear-ended the Ford F-250 of Joseph Summerville, 48, of Butler, who was stopped in traffic at about 9:45 a.m.

Brown’s front-seat passenger, Ella Lewis, 64, of Butler, sustained upper body injuries of unknown severity and was transported to Butler Memorial Hospital. The Hyundai was towed from the scene.

The momentum from the crash pushed the Ford F-250 into Cadillac SUV driven by Dena Gaviglia, 55, of Butler. Gaviglia and his front-seat passenger, Christian Gaviglia, 19, of Butler, sustained upper body injuries but were not transported.
