Schoenecker

James “Jim” Schoenecker, 85, formerly of Butler, passed away peacefully Monday, June 30, 2025, at Orchard Valley Nursing Home in Hendersonville, N.C.

Born in Pittsburgh and raised in Kittanning, Jim was a proud U.S. Army veteran and longtime superintendent with the American Battle Monuments Commission, caring for American military cemeteries in Europe. He returned to Butler in 2004 to reconnect with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lynda; his sons, Patrick (Sandrine) and Mark (Elise); his stepdaughter, Esther (Jim) Luedtke; his grandchildren; his niece, Robin Blose; and extended family.

He will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
