Carol Lee Byers, 77, of Muddy Creek Township, Portersville, passed on Thursday, June 26, 2025.

She was born in Sharon, Pa., on Jan. 26, 1948, to the late Gene C. Gumpp and Ruth Loree Carnahan Gumpp.

Carol married Ronald Edward Byers on April 23, 1967, and he survives at the residence.

Carol was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with family.

Survivors include husband, Ron, at home; daughters, Rona L. Rouse of Butler and Kathy J. (Daniel) Miller of Parker; sons, Richard A. and Edward E. Byers, both of Slippery Rock; sisters, Karen (Bob) Little and Norma Johnson; brothers, Clyde (Betty) Gumpp, Lee Gumpp and Kevin Gumpp; grandchildren, Cassie, Jessica, Samantha, Allison, Alex, Patrick and Stephanie; and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Warren Gumpp; sister, Julie Measle; and grandson, Devon Byers.

BYERS — The family of Carol Lee Byers, who died Thursday, June 26, 2025, will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 5, at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.

There will be a public memorial service at 3 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home, led by the Rev. James Lewis.
