Miller Minutes: ‘Fair is good old-fashioned American fun’
It’s time again for the Big Butler Fair, one of Butler’s most memorable and exciting traditions.
Our fair is good old-fashioned American fun at its finest. People from surrounding counties and states gather to watch the derbies, participate in contests, square-dance, attend concerts, play games and eat food that’s less than good for you (fresh-squeezed lemonade is my treat of choice).
The fair is an event where you will never be at a loss for something to do. If you haven’t had a chance to experience it, I hope you will do so this year.
It signifies the height of summer and the middle of the year. It’s a time to rest, relax, and enjoy the weather (if you’re able to escape the heat).
It also is an opportunity to support our livestock farmers and see the good work they put back into our community.
If the fair isn’t of interest to you, don’t worry — there are a slew of events taking place from Friday through Sunday in Butler County. Take a look at them below.
