Ida Smith
Ida K. Smith, 86, of Slippery Rock, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Butler Memorial Hospital with her daughters by her side.
She was born Sept. 8, 1938, in Parker, to the late David and Bertha (Bowser) Kamerer.
Ida was a devoted homemaker for her loving family. She was also a member of the American Legion Butler No. 117. Ida enjoyed playing cards, listening to country music, and playing bingo, as well as spending time with her loving family.
Ida is survived by her four daughters, Kim (Wayne Krauchak) Smith, Sherry (Henry) Clever, Sheila (Norman) Sutton and Debora (Timothy) Byers; her seven granddaughters; her grandson; her 16 great-grandchildren; her two great-great-grandchildren; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ida was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, David E. Smith, whom she married March 1, 1958, and who passed away Jan. 30, 2017; her grandson; as well as her great-granddaughter. Ida was also the last of 12 siblings.
SMITH — Family and friends of Ida K. Smith, who died Sunday, June 22, 2025, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bob Edmundson officiating.
A private burial will take place at Greenlawn Burial Estates.
