Butler man charged in bat assault
A Butler man assaulted another man with a baseball bat last week in a Franklin Township mobile home park, police said.
Ryan Robert Wable, 44, was charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor harassment following the alleged June 17 incident at Mt. Chestnut Mobile Homes.
State police in Butler said they responded to Butler Memorial Hospital and spoke with the man who was assaulted. The man told police he was in an altercation with Wable when Wable exited a trailer with a baseball bat and struck him in the head. The assault left a contusion that required staples at the hospital, police said.
Police said Wable also struck the man in his left arm with the bat, resulting in a broken left forearm.
Wable’s preliminary hearing before District Judge Joseph Nash is yet to be scheduled.
