Karen Skrocki

Skrocki

Karen Ann Skrocki, 71, of Butler, passed away in the comfort of her home and with her family by her side on Thursday, June 19, 2025.

Born Aug. 31, 1953, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Roland Skeen and Dorothy Seitz Skeen.

A graduate of La Roche College, Karen worked as a photographer for Keystone Lithography. Following her time at Keystone, she discovered a new creative outlet in tole painting, creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces, that she shared with the community through local markets and shops. She took great pride in her work and found deep joy in knowing that her art was cherished and displayed in the homes of others.

Painting, gardening and music were among her favorite pastimes, but the moments spent with her cherished granddaughter were the ones she treasured most.

She is survived by her loving husband, Frederick W. Skrocki, whom she married June 26, 1976; one daughter, Lauren Skrocki, and partner, Clinton Hey, of Saxonburg; one granddaughter, Emery Miles Hey, of Saxonburg; a sister-in-law, Christina Skeen, of Seattle, Wash.; one niece, Heather Ruden, of North Dakota; and one nephew, Jordan Skeen, of Seattle, Wash.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Steven Skeen.
