Seven Fields borough manager Tom Smith said he can’t recall in his 20 years in his position dealing with anything quite like a black bear visiting town.

“He’s been creating quite a stir for us. We’ve been inundated with phone calls, he’s been making rounds around the southern part of Seven Fields,” Smith said.

Smith said the bear was spotted around Southridge Drive, wandering through the streets.

“It’s not something you see every day. We just hope he makes it safely back to the woods without harming anyone or any other animals,” Smith said.
