Slippery Rock football makes pair of way-to-early preseason rankings: See where they were picked
Two recent preseason rankings by national media outlets have Slippery Rock football, fresh off an NCAA Division II semifinal appearance, ranked inside their Top 10.
Lindy’s Sports picked The Rock No. 3 behind Ferris State and Harding in it’s latest magazine edition previewing the 2025 college football season. And FloFootball ranked SRU No. 10 in May.
Another PSAC program, Kutztown, also made Lindy’s Top 10.
The Rock went 12-2 last year, and despite not winning the PSAC championship, they won three NCAA playoff games before losing to eventual champion Ferris State 48-38 in the national semifinals.
Among the key roster battles going into this season will be at quarterback, where coach Shawn Lutz has to replace longtime starter Brayden Long.
