Helen Jean Dunbar, 95, of Butler, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Concordia at Cabot.

She was born July 25, 1929, in McKees Rocks, the daughter of the late Ellsworth and Irene (Clager) Davison.

Helen was a 1947 graduate of Mars High School. She had been employed by Grants (Butler Greater Mart) and retired from Heckett Engineering. Helen was a member of Summit Presbyterian Church. She had been a family coordinator and a volunteer bowling coach for Special Olympics Butler County.

Surviving are four daughters, including Diana Dunbar of Cabot, Patricia Daniels of Renfrew and Nancy Henderson of Butler; her sister, Mrs. Shirley (John) Abt of Allison Park; a sister-in-law, Kathryn Davison of Port Orange, Fla.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years, LaVern E. Dunbar, whom she married Sept. 14, 1950, and who passed away Sept. 6, 2016; two brothers; one sister; and a son-in-law.

DUNBAR — Friends of Helen Jean Dunbar, who died Wednesday, June 18, 2025, will be received from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. Friday, June 20, at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.

Private burial will be in the Summit Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
