Flooding reported after heavy rain

Localized flooding was reported around Butler after a storm Wednesday afternoon, June 18.

Residents witnessed flooding near the Shell gas station and Pizza Hut at West Jefferson Street and West Cunningham Street shortly after 5:30 p.m. Butler police briefly closed the road to traffic until water from Sullivan Run receded.

There was also flooding spotted around Fox’s Pizza near Hansen Avenue, with cars getting stuck in water.

Butler County 911 Dispatch confirmed it received calls for flooding at South Duffy Road and Whitestown Road in Butler Township around 6 p.m.

Dispatch said the water receded quickly in all cases.
