Robert Hinkle
Robert Hinkle, 78, of Portersville, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
Born Jan. 27, 1947, in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Ada Stratton Hinkle.
He met his soulmate, Goldie Elizabeth “Betty” Bixler, in high school and they were later married on Feb. 11, 1966, at the United Methodist Church in Slippery Rock. They shared 57 years of marriage until her passing on March 4, 2023.
Robert retired as president of Mars Mineral, where he was employed for over 40 years. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Portersville, where he served as an elder. He was a lifetime member and past president of the Portersville EMS and the Portersville Fire Department, where he volunteered as a firefighter. He also served as the mayor of Portersville for many years and was the president of the IBA. He enjoyed traveling, mowing grass and, most importantly, cherishing moments spent with his family.
Survivors include daughter, Terri Wilson of Portersville; two sons, Todd (Ronda) Hinkle of Portersville and Jonathan (girlfriend, Tara Smith) Hinkle of Slippery Rock; daughter-in-law, Angie Hinkle of Japan; brother, Jon (Mylinda) Hinkle of Maryland; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Barb Hinkle of Harrisville; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Betty, he was preceded in death by his son, Christopher; son-in-law, Ken Wilson; and brothers, Brian and Gary Hinkle.
HINKLE — Friends and family of Robert Hinkle, who died Sunday, June 15, 2025, will be received from 1 p.m. until the funeral service at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, 200 Fountain Ave., Ellwood City. Pastor Dana Opp will officiate.
Interment will be in Mountville Cemetery.
