The Good Samaritan Hospice, a unit of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, is hosting its ninth annual butterfly release on Sunday, Aug. 17, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at North Boundary Park in Cranberry Township.

The public is invited to purchase and release butterflies at the event in memory of their departed loved ones, as butterflies are known as symbols of rebirth and resurrection. Butterflies are $10 each and participants can purchase a maximum of two, although they can make an additional donation.

Walk-ins are welcome, but registration is encouraged to guarantee a butterfly.
