Richard Wayne Lingler, 81, of Cranberry Township, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025, in the comfort of his home.

He was born on Sept. 11, 1943, in Franklin, Pa., to the Rev. Mason Lingler and the Rev. June (Wise) Lingler.

Wayne graduated from Brookville High School and Lycoming College with a bachelor’s degree in economics. Wayne worked in management at JCPenney and as a pipe fitter at Penreco, retiring in 2008. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, reading and sports cars.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Morrow) Lingler, whom he married Aug. 3, 1968; sons, Conan (Dr. Jennifer) Lingler of Sacramento, Calif., Justin (Dr. Kimberley) Lingler of Midlothian, Va. and Cameron Lingler of Butler; grandchildren, Gemma, Malena, Siena, Vandin and Elric Lingler; sisters, Sheryl Saher and Phyllis Williams; and sister-in-law, Pamela Miller. Also, he is survived by his best friend and loyal companion, his dog, Queenie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Joseph and Aldean Morrow; brothers-in-law, John Miller, Drexel Williams and Zygmund Saher; nephew, Mason Boehm; and niece, Sara Boehm.

LINGLER — A celebration of life for Richard Wayne Lingler, who died Saturday, June 14, 2025, will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lifesteps at 383 New Castle Road, Butler, PA 16001 or Butler County Humane Society at butlercountyhs.org.

Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North Street, Butler.
