Butler man charged in hammer assault
A Butler man is accused of hitting a man with a hammer three times, according to charges filed Monday, June 16.
Travis Zaborowski, 35, was charged with felony aggravated assault and one misdemeanor count each of simple assault and possession of a crime instrument following an alleged June 13 incident.
Police said they arrived to a Franklin Township apartment to find a man who was apparently struck in the head with a hammer. The man had a significant laceration to the left side of his head, significant bleeding to his mouth, a missing tooth, a broken tooth and a red mark on his torso, police said.
Police said they then found Zaborowski in an apartment holding a hammer.
According to the criminal complaint, Zaborowski struck the man twice in the head and once in the torso.
Zaborowski’s preliminary hearing before District Judge Joseph Nash is yet to be scheduled.
