Butler high school graduate receives Vogeley Scholarship

A Butler High School senior was selected as recipient of the 43rd annual Theodore K. Vogeley Scholarship. The award will cover the costs of full tuition, fixed fees, room and board, and books.

Ava Hindman was chosen out of 40 applicants, 23 of whom were interviewed. Ava is the daughter of Jason and Gayle Hindman, of Butler. She plans to attend Kent State University to major in Dance BFA and Biology.

Two other recent Butler Senior High School graduates also earned four-year fixed-amount Vogeley scholarships. They are Ryan Orsborn and Evelyn Paserba, who will each receive $12,500 per year for up to four years.

The number of Vogeley recipients varies each year due to interest earned on the trust and the costs of the students' colleges or universities. A committee is responsible for selecting the recipients, according to a news release from Butler Senior High School.
