Carol Sue (Sarver) Walter, 84, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Medina Hospital, Cleveland Clinic, surrounded by family.

Born May 13, 1941, in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen Sarver.

Carol married her high school sweetheart, Don, on Aug. 24, 1963, in Butler.

A 1959 graduate of Butler High School, Carol was active in music and student leadership, serving as class secretary all four years of high school and on the Senior Class Queen’s Court. She studied music at Chautauqua Institute in New York and graduated from Capital University in 1962 with an executive secretarial degree.

Carol worked in administrative roles at Capital University, for Drs. Cevasco and Smucker, NTN Bearing, substituted in various clerical positions for Medina City Schools, and taught remedial reading to GED students through the Literacy Council of Medina County. She also volunteered with Medina Meals on Wheels. A gifted pianist and organist, she played for countless church services, weddings, funerals and social events and sang in church choirs. She sang briefly with the Medina County Chorus.

Later in life, Carol dedicated herself to her family, caring for loved ones and supporting her children’s and grandchildren’s growth with selflessness, humility and love. Her greatest attribute was putting the wants, needs and desires of others before herself. She enjoyed flowers, classical music, recreational biking, word games and puzzles.

She is survived by Don; children, Connie (Dwight) Bowman of Westerville, Ohio and Kenneth (Laura) Walter of Medina, Ohio; grandchildren, Mackenzie (Joey) Lefforge of Upper Arlington, Ohio, Alex (Heidi) Bowman of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Cale and Patrik “P.J.” Walter of Cape Coral, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Jack Lefforge; niece, Lynne Hasychak; and nephews, Tim and Brad Tarcha.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Rebecca Sarver.

WALTER — Visitation for Carol Sue (Sarver) Walter, who died Tuesday, June 10, 2025, will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at WAITE FUNERAL HOME, 765 N. Court St., Medina, Ohio.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 400 N. Broadway St., Medina, Ohio. Please meet at the church.
