As its water park nears three decades of operation, Cranberry Township officials are looking ahead to its future.

During a June 5 meeting, supervisors approved a $33,800 contract with Water Technology Inc. to develop a comprehensive master site plan for the water park in North Boundary Park. The plan will include an on-site evaluation of the existing pool facilities and provide expert recommendations for repairs, renovations or replacements.

The company will also draft an initial concept design outlining potential updates or new amenities to help guide the water park’s long-term development.

“It’s really looking at the next 5 to 10 years,” said township manager Dan Santoro. “What are the investments we need to make in that facility? That will be from a maintenance and upgrade perspective. So it’s both the infrastructure side of the park, but also looking at what’s the next amenity and should we be looking at some other types of improvements over the next 10 years?”
