Seneca Valley softball star Lexie Hames named Gatorade PA Player of the Year for 2nd time

The postseason awards continue to roll in for Lexie Hames, the Seneca Valley senior star who wrapped up one of the best softball careers in recent Butler County memory.
Hames, who will compete at Clemson next year, was named the Gatorade Pennsylvania Player of the Year for the second straight season.
She went 17-3 this season with a 0.48 ERA and 279 strikeouts. She reached 900 career strikeouts, as well.
No slouch with a bat in hand, Hames hit .487 with nine runs, 18 RBIs and seven home runs despite drawing 40 walks, many intentional.
The Raiders went 17-4 but lost to Hempfield Area 1-0 in the WPIAL Class 6A championship game.
