Oakland Township woman accused of armed robbery in Ohio
An Oakland Township woman is accused of helping two men rob multiple people at gunpoint in Ohio.
Iyana S. Barlow, 23, was charged with two counts of felony aggravated assault by the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office following multiple incidents between May 18 and June 5 in Newton Township, Ohio.
Police said they were flagged down by a man who said he’d been robbed at gunpoint in Foster Metropark. Police said he met a woman going by the name “Pookie” on a dating application on Facebook.
The two agreed to meet at the park where the woman lured the man to the lower portion of the parking lot where he was held at gunpoint with an AR-style rifle and 9mm handgun.
The man told police three suspects took his phone, credit card and firearm and threw his phone into the woods before fleeing in a gray Ford truck.
Police later recovered the credit card left on a picnic bench. The phone was also located in the woods. Police later found the woman had deleted her profile.
Police identified a second victim May 23. The three suspects took the man’s phone, keys, shoes and handgun before fleeing in a large SUV.
Police later tracked and interviewed friends of the woman on social media and located the two firearms at her friend’s home.
Police executed a search warrant June 5 on a Newton Township home and arrested Barlow. Police also recovered a stolen firearm and six other items related to the case.
