Seven Fields Council appoints new member

Members of Seven Fields Council unanimously voted to appoint a new member during a monthly meeting on Monday, June 9.

In a unique circumstance, Russell Zangrilli will temporarily join the council through the end of the year following the retirement of Louis Borghi. However, he will almost certainly become a more permanent member following the general election this November.

Zangrilli, who has previously served on the borough’s planning commission, received the most votes in the Republican primary election last month, and without any challengers on the primary ballot from the Democratic Party, he is virtually guaranteed to win a four-year term that would begin next year.

After Zangrilli was officially sworn in, council members unanimously approved several other items, beginning with a new garage door for the public works department worth $2,950 from Geil Garage Doors Inc.

Council also accepted the resignation of public works supervisor Mike Guenther.

The Seven Fields Town Park Pool received a new heater worth $18,200 through a CoStars agreement from B&R Pools & Swim Shop. It is expected to be installed in the next three to five weeks, according to borough manager Tom Smith. Two additional lifeguards for the pool, Chloe Oestreicher and Keelin Schessler, were also hired.
