Mary Alice McCosby, 88, of Gibsonia, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 1, 2025, while in the care of St. Barnabas Nursing Home.

Born Nov. 8, 1936, in Millvale, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Elizabeth (Schrass) Karpinski-Dietrich.

Mary Alice was preceded in passing by her loving husband, James F. McCosby, who died May 2, 2020, after 68 years of marriage. They had four children, along with their spouses, Judy and Laura, Jamie and Mel, Jimi and Brenda, and Joe and Judy. Their grandchildren included MJ (Emily), Jessie (Andy), Julia (Josh), Bodie and Callee (Dean); who blessed her life with five great-grandchildren, Lilly, Violet, Arthur, Grayson and Josie.

Mary Alice was a proud member of the Democratic Women’s Club and she contributed to many national and local campaigns. She was an accomplished artist, working in oils, as well as folk arts and crafts.

MCCOSBY — There will be no public visitation for Mary Alice McCosby, who died Sunday, June 1, 2025.

Cremation was entrusted to BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.

A memorial service for James F. and Mary Alice will be held on Oct. 10, 2025.
