Jo Ann Patrick, 85, of Sarver passed away peacefully Friday, June 6, 2025, at Allegheny Valley Hospital, surrounded by her family.

Jo Ann was born Aug. 15, 1939, in the home in Buffalo Township in which she had resided. She was the daughter of Charles R. Frantz and Sara Jane McCracken Frantz.

Jo Ann was a 1957 graduate of Freeport Area High School and worked after graduation at the school as the junior high secretary for almost four years during the time the school was on split sessions.

She then joined her husband, who was in the Air Force, and traveled and lived in Rome, N.Y.; Goldsboro, N.C.; and Tacoma, Wash. They returned to Pennsylvania in 1969 and bought the homestead. Jo Ann worked for the Redevelopment Authority of Armstrong County for 28 years as a clerk/secretary retiring in 2001.

Jo Ann was an active member of the United Presbyterian Church of Freeport, where she was a deacon, an elder, sang in the choir and participated on many committees. She loved to oil paint, camp in the summer, scrapbook, read, crafts and just being there for her friends and family. Her children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a joy in her life.

Surviving are her son, Shawn W. (Julie) Patrick of Cabot; her daughter, Debra Jo Bair; one sister, Carol Kuhns; one brother, Richard (Brenda Golembesky) Frantz; and nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years, James L. Patrick, who passed away Jan. 30, 2015; her son, Michael James Patrick; and two sisters, Patricia Androwick and Charlotte Frantz.

PATRICK — Friends of Jo Ann Patrick, who died Friday, June 6, 2025, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at FOX FUNERAL HOME, Saxonburg.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2025, at the funeral home, with Fr. Ward Stakem, OFM Cap, officiating.

Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park.

Memorial donations may be made to the United Presbyterian Church of Freeport.
