Judy Courtney
Judy Courtney, 78, of Prospect, passed away Friday, May 30, 2025, in the comfort of her home surrounded by family.
She was born June 2, 1946, to the late Jay Weitzel and Waneda (Sasse) Weitzel.
She graduated from Slippery Rock High School and went on to get a bachelor's degree from Butler County Community College. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, woodworking, painting and making various crafts.
She is survived by her two sons, Jack Russell Jr. of Butler and Sean Russell, of Butler; four grandchildren, Brandon Russell, Haley Russell, Jeffrey Russell and Casey Russell; one great-grandchild, Braden Russell; brother, Gary Weitzel of Prospect; sister, Janet Menchyk; one niece, Lori Redenbach; and two nephews, Kirk Weitzel and Frankie Menchyk.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Courtney, whom she married Nov. 19, 1988, and who passed away June 9, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Weitzel.
COURTNEY — A memorial service for Judy Courtney, who died Friday, May 30, 2025, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler, with the Rev. Bob Edmundson officiating.
