Seneca Valley receives outstanding music designation
Seneca Valley School District’s music education program was recognized by the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation for its “outstanding commitment” to music education.
The district received a “Best Communities for Music Education” designation. This marks the third time Seneca Valley has earned the recognition.
To qualify for the designation, Seneca Valley answered questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program and community music-making programs. In the past year, the high school marching band performed at the Norfolk NATO Festival’s “Parade of Nations,” and several students participated in the PMEA All-State Conference and Festival.
