Severe thunderstorm warning for northeastern Butler County in effect
Northeastern Butler County, alongside west central Armstrong County and southwestern Clarion County, are under a severe thunderstorm warning until 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 5.
According to the National Weather Service, at 4:45 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located 9 miles northeast of Shanor-Northvue, or 12 miles north of Butler, moving east at 25 mph.
Wind gusts are reaching as high as 60 mph, a post from the service said.
A hazardous weather outlook is also in effect for western Pennsylvania. The service said heavy rainfall could result in localized flash flooding Thursday afternoon into the night.
The service said there is additional chance for rainfall, or a thunderstorm, on Friday.
