Portion of I-79 to see nighttime lane closure through August
PennDOT announced a final schedule for repairs on Interstate 79 northbound and southbound around Cranberry Township.
Crews will be working 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on weeknights from June to August. According to a PennDOT news release, there will be a single lane closure both northbound and southbound for joint repairs and the replacement of guardrails.
On weekends, from 8 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday, there will be a lane closure both northbound and southbound for concrete patching, repaving northbound lanes, and fixing cross pipes.
The work area on I-79 northbound will stretch from Exit 77 at the Pennsylvania Turnpike to a half mile past Exit 78.
The southbound work area will stretch from Exit 77 to the weight station nearby.
The project, costing approximately $5.4 million, is expected to be completed by the end of August.
