1 injured after explosion at Muddy Creek Township home
MUDDY CREEK TWP — The cause of an explosion at a home in the township Wednesday afternoon, June 4, is under investigation.
According to Butler County Emergency Services dispatch, just before 1:30 p.m. an explosion was heard inside a home in the 200-block of Sawyer Road. State police said one man was transported to the hospital with injuries.
Reports to dispatch said the house was full of smoke and a man was burned at the scene.
Prospect Volunteer Fire Department, Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company and Portersville-Muddy Creek Township Volunteer Fire Department, state police and Butler Ambulance Services responded.
At the scene, fire crews were able to control the incident, then working to evaluate injuries. State police spoke to the home’s occupants about the incident.
State police said the cause of the explosion is unknown, but under investigation.
