Virginia ‘Jeannie’ Mazurick
Virginia “Jeannie” Ann Mazurick, 83, passed away at Butler Memorial Hospital the morning of Friday, May 30, 2025, following an extended period of declining health.
Jeannie was born in Butler on Aug. 5, 1941, to her parents, the late Charles and Anna Natali.
Jeannie was sparkly — from her personality and beautiful sky-blue eyes to her clothing and accessories. She enjoyed cooking, baking, music and social gatherings of any type. She had a wonderful sense of humor and could always be counted on to tell an amusing story. She loved holidays and decorated her home for every single one of them.
She dedicated her life to the Highfield Community Center, catering and helping to schedule and manage events. She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. She was “mom” to many in addition to her own children, and a cherished friend to many more. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Mazurick; and son, John Mazurick; sister, Barbara Richardson; and brother, Charles Natali; nephew, Scott Richardson, his wife, Amy, and their children, Tanner and Brooke; nieces, Michelle Richardson and Tracy Richardson; and several cousins and their families.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Mazurick, whom she married Oct. 8, 1960, who died March 11, 1996.
Her family wants to thank everyone who prayed for her, and every doctor and nurse who cared for her over the past few years, including Concordia Visiting Nurses and Sara Walters from WellBe. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Butler Memorial Hospital who provided such wonderful care to Jeannie, and comfort and support to her family during the difficult days prior to her passing.
