Robert V. “Bob” Updegraph, 72, of Portersville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, June 1, 2025, following a courageous battle with glioblastoma.

Born on Sept. 9, 1952, in New Castle, he was the son of the late Henry Paul Updegraph and Virginia (Morrison) Updegraph.

Bob retired from Penn Power as a substation mechanic in 2015, following 36 years of dedicated service.

He was a devoted member of St. Christopher at the Lake (St. Faustina Parish) and was in the first class to graduate from Portersville Christian School in 1970.

Bob enjoyed golf and traveling. He was also a life member of Portersville Volunteer Fire Company. Most of all, he loved his family and treasured the time he spent with them.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 48 years, Linda (Farinelli) Updegraph; his children, Kelly (Ryan) Rossman, Jason (Rachel) Updegraph and Laura Updegraph; sister, Nancy Updegraph; mother-in-law, Ann Farinelli; brothers-in-law, David (Jo) Farinelli and Douglas (Jean) Farinelli; sisters-in-law, Barbara Farinelli and Susan (William) Stanley; four grandchildren, Dylan and Natalie Rossman and Elise and Quinn Updegraph; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Jean Updegraph; and father-in-law, Martin Farinelli.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Hillman Cancer Center, especially Dr. Drappatz, Ashley, and Carolyn; as well as the nurses and staff of Good Samaritan Hospice for the medical care they provided.

UPDEGRAPH — Friends of Robert V. “Bob” Updegraph, who died Sunday, June 1, 2025, will be received from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 5, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, June 6, at St. Faustina Parish, St. Christopher at the Lake Catholic Church, 232 N. Franklin St., Prospect, with the Rev. Adam Verona officiating.

A private burial will be held at Portersville Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
