Scammer attempts to steal more than $2K from Slippery Rock man
A scammer reportedly attempted to steal more than $2,000 from a Slippery Rock man using holds to a Texas hotel.
Police said they were dispatched at 1:21 p.m. Thursday, May 29, to West Liberty Street and met with the 62-year-old man. Police said an unknown person attempted to pre-authorize a $2,179.81 hold to an Aloft Hotel in Texas using the man’s checking account information.
First National Bank declined the charge, saving the man’s money.
