It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert James “Jim” Christy on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the age of 69, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Jim had an infectious laugh and the biggest heart and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Jim was born Sept. 14, 1955, in Butler to the late Robert E. and Marian J. (Covert) Christy.

Jim worked many years at Spang & Company and Butler Fabricating. He loved watching “Jeopardy!”, had a passion for the Green Bay Packers, was an avid reader and a Gettysburg Civil War enthusiast. He was also a member of the Masonic lodge in Butler. He graduated from Butler High School in 1973.

Jim is survived by his brother, Terry L. (Helen) Christy; his aunt, Anna Mae (Gene) Webb; nephew, Jeremy J. (Lidija) Christy; niece, Elizabeth M. (Ebrahim) Noysser; great-nephews, Luca Christy and Adrian Noysser; and cousins, Donald E. (Tana) Webb, Corry Webb and Amanda Webb.

Jim was predeceased by his parents; maternal grandparents, Clifford and Ethel Covert; and paternal grandparents, Robert and Pearl Christy of East Butler.

CHRISTY — A memorial service for Robert James “Jim” Christy, who died Thursday, May 22, 2025, will be held privately at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, through THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Meals on Wheels, 218 E. Jefferson St., Butler PA 16001, in memory of Robert James Christy.
