Concerned about Social Security tardiness
I am an anxious and confused senior.
I am a lifelong citizen of Butler County. I am a Democrat. I live on a street which could be named Trump Boulevard.
For 11 years, I have received my Social Security check the third weekday of each month. This year, the check day was on Saturdays two months in a row. No explanation.
I got my May check on May 21, 2025, 12 business days late. Social Security is my only source of income.
When directed to Rep. Mike Kelly’s office, I left a voicemail, “Can you help me? I am a Democrat.” Kelly’s office was closed the next day for community outreach. They called me early on the closed office day.
The staff was professional, helpful, and got it going again. When I asked why this happened, they said, “I don’t know.” When I asked how I could find out, they said, “I don’t know.”
The Social Security Butler office doesn’t answer the phone. The helpful guy left. Now I am still anxious, confused and somewhat resentful.
