Deborra-Lee Furness files to divorce Hugh Jackman 2 years after split
Hugh Jackman’s estranged wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, filed for divorce in New York, nearly two years after the pair announced they were ending their 27-year marriage.
Furness, 69, filed for divorce on Friday in Suffolk County Supreme Court, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
The outlet reports the divorce will be finalized once the judge signs off on the complaint and other documents Furness submitted — filings regarding continuing health care coverage, a medical child support order, the New York State child support registry form, the exes’ settlement deal, a proposed judgment of divorce and official certificate of dissolution.
The “Deadpool & Wolverine” star and award-winning “Shame” actress met in 1995, working on the Australian miniseries “Correlli,” and married the following year. They later adopted son Oscar and daughter Ava, now 25 and 19 respectively.
In September 2023, the couple announced their separation in a joint statement to People.
“We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” the actors said at the time. “Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth. … We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love and kindness.”
Jackman sparked romance rumors with his “Music Man” co-star Sutton Foster as far back as 2022, though the Broadway stars only confirmed their relationship earlier this year.
Furness’ filing comes seven months after 50-year-old Foster filed to divorce screenwriter Ted Griffin in October, after a decade of marriage. The exes share daughter Emily, whom they also welcomed via adoption.
Prior to Griffin, Foster was married to fellow Broadway veteran Christian Borle, who, like Jackman and the “Thoroughly Modern Millie” actress, has won two Tony Awards.

Kevin Costner reportedly sued for alleged unscripted ‘Horizon’ rape scene
Kevin Costner was sued Tuesday by Ella Hunt’s stunt double for allegedly forcing her to act in an unscripted and violent rape scene in the unreleased second part of his “Horizon” saga.
Devyn LaBella is seeking a jury trial as she accuses 70-year-old Costner — who starred in, directed and co-wrote “Horizon: An American Saga” — of sexual discrimination, hostile work environment, sexual harassment, failure to remedy/prevent discrimination and harassment, retaliation, interference with the exercise of civil rights, intentional infliction of distress and breach of contract, according to the complaint obtained by Variety.
LaBella, 34, claims in her suit that, on May 2, 2023, she “was the victim of a violent unscripted, unscheduled rape scene,” directed by the “Yellowstone” star. LaBella says she suffered “permanent trauma” and that her career came “to an abrupt halt.”
“For the first several weeks, Ms. LaBella professionally performed her stunts without incident. However, this experience changed dramatically. Due to its very physical nature, Defendants informed Ms. LaBella she would be doubling for the majority of a scripted, aggressive and intimate rape scene between Ms. Hunt’s character ‘Juliette’ and ‘Sig,’ played by Douglas Smith,” reads the complaint.
On May 2, a day after the scene in question went off with protocols in place, Costner allegedly “asked Ms. LaBella to ‘stand in’ for Ms. Hunt to ‘line up [a] shot'” in the rape scene that was added impromptu, in violation of SAG-AFTRA protocol, and featuring the character Birke, played by “6’2″, 220lbs.” Roger Ivens.
Though it “was not within the scope of her role as a stunt double,” LaBella “agreed to help,” though she was allegedly unaware Hunt “walked off the set, refusing to do the scene.”
Though LaBella’s intimacy scenes required an intimacy coordinator’s presence — as an extension of Hunt’s own contract — the complaint states that, “Crucially, no arrangements were made for Ms. Chaney or any other intimacy coordinator to be present during filming” of the new shots.
The complaint says Costner was present throughout the filming of the scene and “very ‘hands on” and was either involved in or fully aware of every single thing going on.
“Without proper notice, consent, preparation, or appropriate safeguard measures in place, such as the project’s intimacy coordinator being called in, Defendant Costner directed Mr. Ivens to repeatedly perform a violent simulated rape on Ms. LaBella,” the lawsuit alleges. “There was no escaping the situation, and all Ms. LaBella could do was wait for the nightmare to end. … She experienced shock, embarrassment and humiliation while attempting to process the situation.”
After alleging sexual harassment on set, LaBella was not hired to return for the third installment of the film series, which started filming in early 2024, per the complaint. She says that though she was previously regularly hired for the stunt coordinator’s projects, he has not brought her on to anything since.
LaBella says she filed complaints with the California Civil Rights Division in February 2024 and again in November.
The pre- and post-Civil War epic, “Horizon: An American Saga — Chapter 1,” hit theaters in June. After dismal box office numbers, the second installment — planned for August 2024 — was pulled from theatrical slates. The third and fourth chapters have not yet been scheduled.
The Daily News has reached out to a representative for Costner for additional comment.

Cassie Ventura welcomes third child 2 weeks after Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs trial testimony
Cassie Ventura has welcomed her third child on the heels of testifying as the star witness against Sean “Diddy” Combs at his federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial.
The “Me & U” singer, 38, and husband Alex Fine welcomed their youngest on Tuesday, the same day Ventura was seen checking into the labor-and-delivery unit at a New York hospital, TMZ reports.
Insiders previously told the outlet that Ventura might be contending with complications.
Ventura — who was in a contentious, on-off relationship with the Bad Boy Records founder, 55, from 2007 to 2018 — married trainer Fine in 2019.
The couple shares daughters Frankie, 5, and Sunny, 4. They announced in February that they were expecting a third child.
Ventura’s November 2023 blockbuster lawsuit accusing the Harlem-born Combs of rape, sex trafficking and long-standing abuse effectively served as the canary in the coal mine as dozens of similarly disturbing lawsuits have since been filed including the federal charges for which he is currently standing trial.
Combs was arrested this past September and faces life in prison if convicted. His trial, which began earlier this month, is expected to span eight weeks.
