A Lyndora woman was charged after police say she brought her 13-year-old child to help steal merchandise Friday, May 23, in Center Township.

Laura Lynn McCrea, 37, was charged with felony retail theft and one misdemeanor count each of child endangerment and corruption of minors following the alleged incident at a Clearview Mall store.

State police in Butler said they were contacted by a loss prevention employee who reported seeing McCrea taking tags off clothing and jewelry.

Police said they stopped McCrea outside with about $1,500 worth of merchandise.

McCrea is being held in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail. Her preliminary hearing is pending, according to staff for District Judge Lewis Stoughton.
