Mary ‘Betty’ Brown

Mary E. “Betty” Brown, 88, of Butler, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2025, in the comfort of her home.

She was born on June 15, 1936, in Erie, to Joseph Carrick and Dorothy (Meyer) Carrick.

Betty graduated from Titusville High School and Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh where she earned her nursing degree. She was a registered nurse for Butler Memorial Hospital. Betty enjoyed camping, swimming, reading and, above all, spending time with her family.

She is survived by sons, Timothy (Val) Brown and Thomas (Theresa) Brown; daughters, Leslie (Mark) LeFebvre and Tracy (Simon) Maroff; grandchildren, Elizabeth LeFebvre, Jamie LeFebvre, Jamie Walters, Stefanie Martin, Amber Mitchell, Fletcher Brown and Thomas Brown; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a brother, David (Tina) Carrick.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George “Dick” Brown; brothers, Patrick and Michael Carrick; and sisters, Sally Car and Geraldine Carrick.

BROWN — A visitation for Mary E. “Betty” Brown, who died Saturday, May 24, 2025, will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., with a funeral service to immediately follow at 6 p.m., on Wednesday, May 28, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

A private burial will be held at North Side Cemetery.
