Staff members of pools in Butler County prepared for the opening of the season by performing rescue drills, scrubbing the decks and cleaning the water with nets and bags.

Although many youths in the county are still in school until early-June, Memorial Day weekend marks the date that some pools in the county open, including EDCO Pool in Evans City and Cranberry Township Pool. Alameda Waterpark in Butler Township opens the following weekend, May 31.

Having been closed since the end of last summer, staff members also put equipment back in place around the pools and performed maintenance on pool structures like water slides and diving boards.
