LifeSteps holding Assistive Technology Showcase May 29
LifeSteps Assistive Technology Center is showing off a range of new technology meant to assist individuals with disabilities, with an Assistive Technology Showcase event on Thursday, May 29.
Among the technologies demonstrated during the event will be a sign language robot arm from Tatum Robotics, which is designed to assist those who are deaf-blind. Also on hand will be augmented-reality glasses, as well as a “smart cane” with obstacle detection and audio feedback, and other items.
The showcase event will be held in two sessions: a morning session from 9 a.m. to noon and an afternoon session from 1 to 4 p.m.
The center is at 389 Evans City Road in Butler Township.
