More and more vendors are not accepting credit cards without the customer paying the bank service fee. I can't blame them. Here's the BUT: Let the customer know this in advance so that we can be prepared with cash or a check.

I took my car to the dealership. I spoke with the collision people no less than five times in almost three weeks and was never told about the credit card bank service fee.

Went to the eye doctor and when I went to pay the co-payment, I was informed that I would have to pay the bank service fee, but nowhere in the three texts to me reminding me of my appointment did they bother to inform me about their new policy about the bank service fee.

Please businesses, no surprises. Tell it up front.
