Police Reports
The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts:
April 28 — David McCormick, 37, of Johnstown, was charged with felony forgery and one misdemeanor count each of bad checks and possession of an instrument of a crime following an April 28 incident. Police said McCormick attempted to use bad checks for $7,000 and $480 in a sale.
April 29 — Kyle R. Maziarz, 23, of Mars, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of alcohol following an April 29 crash. Police said Maziarz had a blood alcohol content of 0.229%. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is 0.08%.
April 29 — Ryan E. Connolly, 31, of Allison Park, was charged with misdemeanor reckless endangerment following a March 17 crash. Police said Connolly was driving and purposely swerved into an oncoming car during a mental health incident.
April 29 — Shane P. Swoope, 33, of Butler, was charged with felony strangulation and misdemeanor simple assault following an April 26 incident. Police said Swoope choked a pregnant woman, pushed her into a wall, pulled her to the ground, threw a can of alcohol at her and dumped alcohol on her.
April 29 — Dameire M. Reevey, 31, of Philadelphia, was charged with felony intent to distribute a controlled substance following a Dec. 23 traffic stop. Police said Reevey had a large clear bag of marijuana, six individual bags of marijuana and a fanny pack.
April 25 — Maite C. Stott, 21, of New Brighton, was charged with two misdemeanor DUI counts following an April 6 crash. Police said Stott had a blood alcohol content of 0.27%. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is 0.08%.
April 30 — Michael J. McFarland, 21, of Oil City, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of selling liquor to a minor and furnishing liquor following an April 12 incident in Slippery Rock Township. Police said McFarland purchased for a minor at least three 12-ounce cans of Michelob Ultra, four 12-ounce cans of Michelob Ultra Pure Gold and four 12-ounce cans of Miller Lite.
April 28 — Thomas L. Hutchison, 27, of Slippery Rock, was charged with misdemeanor theft following an April 21 incident. Police said Hutchison stole a donation box worth $130.
April 30 — Bryson M. Watson, 19, of Polk, was charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief following an April 23 incident. Police said Watson vandalized two outdoor garbage cans and one pole sign.
April 15 — Police attempted a traffic stop on a 15-year-old juvenile near Block Beck Road in Summit Township. Police said the known juvenile fled on a dirt bike and on foot. Charges are pending.
April 24 — Cadon L. Sherwood-Bauder, 21, of Ellwood City, was charged with three misdemeanor DUI counts following a Feb. 28 traffic stop in Butler Township. Police said Sherwood-Bauder had a BAC of 0.92%. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is 0.08%.
April 28 — Joshua D. Belschner, 40, of Boyers, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault following an April 26 incident in Cherry Township. Police said Belschner punched a man multiple times.
April 28 — Michael A. Pistorius, 41, of Pittsburgh, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of terroristic threats and loitering following an April 26 incident in Donegal Township. Police said Pistorius was standing outside a man’s home threatening him and his family while carrying knives.
April 28 — Ryan A. Wolfe, 18, of Petrolia, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession following an April 25 incident in Washington Township. Police said Wolfe had suspected marijuana, a THC vape pen and two smoking devices.
April 28 — Joshua J. Space, 32, of Butler, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of DUI, marijuana possession, drug paraphernalia possession, resisting arrest and operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock following an April 27 crash in Connoquenessing Township. Police said Space showed signs of impairment, had a small amount of marijuana in a pipe and a burnt marijuana cigarette, and he physically resisted when being apprehended.
April 28 — Justin S. Thompson, 27, of Philadelphia, was charged with felony possession with intent to distribute controlled substances and one misdemeanor count each of controlled substance possession and drug paraphernalia possession following an Aug. 10, 2023, incident in Butler. Police said Thompson sold 0.98 grams of cocaine to a confidential informant.
April 28 — Justin S. Thompson, 27, of Philadelphia, was charged with two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver controlled substances, three misdemeanor counts of drug paraphernalia possession and two misdemeanor counts of controlled substance possession following a July 27, 2023, incident in Butler. Police said Thompson sold 0.93 grams of cocaine and 0.64 grams of fentanyl and xylazine to a confidential informant.
April 30 — Ethan M. Barranti, 27, of Allison Park, was charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence following an April 30 traffic stop in Butler. Police said Barranti showed signs of impairment and tested positive for alcohol.
