Richard ‘Dick’ Kaltenbach
Richard “Dick” Kaltenbach, 90, of Renfrew, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
He was born in Renfrew on Jan. 22, 1935, to the late Ervin “Jake” and Lillian Mae (Renfrew) Kaltenbach.
Dick graduated from Penn High School in 1953 and honorably served in the U.S. Army. He was employed at OPM in Boyers for 30 years, until his retirement in 1990.
Dick was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He was an avid golfer; loved to garden, be outdoors and hunt; loved to winter in Florida, which he did for over 30 years; and playing cards and other games with his family and friends.
Dick was the beloved husband of Carole (Zahand) Kaltenbach since their marriage on Oct. 15, 1960; father of Cathie (Craig) Brennan, Sue Dumas and Mike (Bradene) Kaltenbach; brother of Nancy Sterling; grandfather of Brian (Jessica) Cooper, Becky Bichler, Cory and Chazz (Karlee) Brennan, Seth (Madison) and Chelsea Dumas, and Jacob, Faith and Evan Kaltenbach; and great-grandfather of Sophia, Landon, Kenzie, Charlotte, Olivia, Lucy and Elijah. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Charlene Kaltenbach.
Along with his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Beth Cooper; and his brother, William Kaltenbach.
KALTENBACH — Family and friends of Richard “Dick” Kaltenbach, who died Wednesday, April 30, 2025, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 5, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, at the funeral home.
Burial will be held privately at Butler County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Down Syndrome Society.
