Mars man charged with threatening neighbor with gun

A Mars man was charged after allegedly threatening his neighbor with a gun during an altercation.

Adams Township police charged Guy Raymond Palermo III, 42, with one misdemeanor count each of terroristic threats, simple assault, disorderly conduct, marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession following the May 1 incident.

Police said Palermo was walking his dog when he got into a verbal altercation when telling a neighbor to keep his wife and dog off Palermo’s property. Palermo reportedly threatened the neighbor’s wife the night before and said he was “lucky he didn’t come shoot him that night.”

Police said during the altercation, Palermo pulled a black compact firearm on the neighbor and repeatedly threatened to shoot him.

Police said Palermo admitted to the altercation and having a gun on him, and police recovered a black FN Reflex compact pistol. Police said they also searched his vehicle and found marijuana and associated paraphernalia.

Palermo’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. May 14 before District Judge Amy Marcinkiewicz.
