Dr. Gwen Vinroe Coltz, 67, of Eau Claire, went home with Jesus Tuesday, April 29, 2025, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born in Grove City, May 2, 1957, to LeRoy and Winifred (Brewster) Vinroe.

Gwen graduated from Butler High School, University of Tulsa with a Bachelor of Arts in education, Gallaudet University with an Associate of Arts in sign language interpreting and Pennsylvania College of Optometry with a Doctor of Optometry. She practiced optometry in Clarion for 26 years, retiring in 2024 due to illness.

She married Jim Coltz on June 10, 2000. She attended Faith Fellowship Alliance Church in Butler for over 50 years, and was known for her warm smile and beautiful singing voice.

Gwen is survived by her husband; her sisters, Judy O’Harrow, Joan (Ted) Goodridge and Donna Davis; as well as her brother, Kevin (Leslie) Vinroe.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Gary (Katie) Vinroe.

Gwen was a Godly woman and truly was a Proverbs 31 woman. Her hearts desire was for everyone to get to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

COLTZ — A viewing for Dr. Gwen Vinroe Coltz, who died Tuesday, April 29, 2025, will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 8, at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faith Way, Butler. A funeral service will follow immediately after the viewing at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Richard Jenks presiding.

Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, Butler.
