2025 US Open: What to know if you’re planning to attend Oakmont Country Club for golf’s second major
One of the most prestigious events in professional golf is returning to the region.
The 2025 U.S. Open will be held at Oakmont Country Club from June 12-15. It will mark the 10th time the venerable course has hosted the men’s major, and the first since 2016.
With some of the most notable golfers in the world converging for the tournament, it will be a big draw. Here are some of the biggest things to know if planning to attend the U.S. Open this year.
The United States Golf Association Resale Marketplace is the only USGA-approved secondary marketplace for purchasing tickets to the event. Ticket prices set by re-sellers may exceed face value. Other verified ticket options are accessible at usopen.com.
As of April 28, daily prices for gallery tickets range from $60-210. A championship round package for the gallery is set at $700. Daily trophy club tickets range from $90-335, with a championship round package costing $1,250. Daily grandstand tickets range from $550-700.
Parking and shuttle transportation will be provided both ways from two lots, one west of Oakmont at Hartwood Acres and another south of Oakmont at Monroeville Mall.
Fans can also park elsewhere and use ride-sharing to the course.
Oakmont Country Club will not have any general fan parking available on its grounds. Local street parking will be available in accordance with Borough of Oakmont ordinances and regulations. All other parking is by permit only.
Among the U.S. Open’s prohibited items are tablets and computers, selfie sticks, and cameras and video cameras. Mobile devices smaller than 7 inches are permitted but are subject to the event’s mobile device policy.
Lightweight, reasonably-sized chairs are allowed. Backpacks, briefcases, purses and/or bags larger than 6 inches wide, 6 inches tall and 6 inches deep. Slightly larger transparent plastic hand and shoulder bags are permitted.
Fans can bring water bottles as large as 32 ounces, but they must be empty upon arrival.
Fans are encouraged to bring their own sun protection and sunscreen. Sunscreen will also be available for purchase in the merchandise pavilion.
Autographs should only be obtained at designated autograph zones or after the completion of a player’s round. On-course autographs aren’t permitted, including tees, fairways, greens and practice areas.
A good strategy is to get out a hole or two ahead of the final group when they take to the first tee Sunday afternoon. Study the Oakmont map ahead of time to look for spots where you can watch multiple greens and tees, which there are a few such corners, while still keeping tabs on the final group.
Get to the 18th hole a little early and stand past the bleachers by the tee so you can watch their tee shot and second shot from the fairway.
