Thousands in Butler County still without power Wednesday morning
Thousands of people were still without electricity as of 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, April 30, after severe thunderstorms the day before swept through Butler County.
First Energy Corporation reported about 5,891 Butler County customers had no power Wednesday morning, and Central Electric Cooperative reported an additional 130 outages.
Buffalo Township has the majority of outages with 2,022 reported by First Energy. Central Electric Cooperative also reported 50 outages in the township, or almost 75% of its customers there.
The majority of outages reported are in southern Butler County. Neighboring counties to the south face more outages with about 15,427 reported in Armstrong County, about 32,125 reported in Allegheny County and about 46,521 reported in Westmoreland County, according to First Energy Corporation data.
