Cory

Gayle Maxine Cory, 84, of Cody, Wyo., formerly of New Wilmington, Pa., passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Cody Regional Health.

Gayle was born Feb. 2, 1941, and was the daughter of Herman and Helen (Frederick) Domke in New Castle.

Gayle started her career life as an LPN in respiratory therapy at Grove City Hospital in Pennsylvania. She then changed careers and worked as a sales secretary for Associated Box (Nelson Co.) brokering wooden pallets. In her retirement years, she then moved to Cody, Wyo., to be near her daughter, Susan.

She was a member of the first Presbyterian Church of Cody.

She enjoyed taking rides to Yellowstone National Park to take in her favorite view of the Lower Falls, attending church functions, watching baseball, horse racing and her favorite football team, the Steelers, all while cuddling their cat, Tinkerbell.

She is survived by her son, James (Maureen Aiken) Cory, and granddaughter, Jacquelyn, all of New Wilmington, Pa.; and daughter, Susan Cory of Cody, Wyo., with whom she lived for the past 12 years.

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband, James Cory of Plain Grove, Pa.

CORY — A service in Pennsylvania for Gayle Maxine Cory, who died Thursday, April 24, 2025, will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of BALLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 636 19th St., Cody, Wyo.
