A Cranberry Township woman was charged with harassment after attempting to contact a high-ranking UPMC official over 180 times in six months, according to police.

Lauren Raposa, 38, of Cranberry Township, was charged Wednesday, April 23, after ignoring several cease and desist letters and requests from the official to stop, police said.

According to police, Raposa first contacted the official at the end of October and has since made over 180 other attempts to contact them. At first, Raposa sent one or two communications daily, but police said the frequency increased significantly in recent weeks.

Police said on Saturday, April 12, Raposa attempted to contact the official 28 times through voicemail, email and pager. She then showed up at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh requesting to be seen as a patient, police said.

During the past six months, police said Raposa purchased $165 worth of merchandise from the hospital gift shop and requested it be delivered to the official.

According to police, in her communication she discussed wanting to work and be treated at the hospital, talked about suing the hospital and said she wanted to donate her organs to the official.
