Beverly Zavacky
Beverly Anne Elder Zavacky, 92, of Butler, went home to be with the Lord on Good Friday, April 18, 2025. She was born March 7, 1933, in Butler, and was the daughter to the late William Reed and Anna (Heathcote) Elder.
She attended Butler schools and lived her entire life in Butler, the place she loved. Beverly was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora where she married her husband, Steve, and where she was a member of the Ladies Guild.
She focused her life on being a loving, caring mother and a devoted wife of nearly 60 years. She adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was beloved by them.
She enjoyed playing Canasta all her life, creating ceramics and taking care of her home. She was known for lighting her house every Christmas. She loved to laugh and had a positive outlook on life.
Beverly is survived by her four children and their families. Her daughter, Barbara Bishop and her husband, Dr. Andrew Bishop, of Wilmington, N.C., and their children, Cole, Quinn and Cooper; her sons, Robert ‘Steve’ Zavacky and his wife, Cheryl, of Pittsburgh; James Zavacky and his wife, Nancy, of Tucson, Ariz.; and her son by a former spouse, Richard Pribis and his wife, Mary Anne, of Butler, and their children, Richard (Meredyth) Pribis of Mars, and their children, Conor, Saylor and Adelaide; Dr. Maria (Thomas) Kail of Connecticut, and their daughter, Natalie; Dr. John (Dr. So dam Kim) Pribis of Massachusetts, and their daughter, Remy; Matthew (Megan) Pribis of Leesburg, Va., and their son Matteo.
In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her loving husband, Steve; her brother, William Elder; and her sisters, Betty Weisenstein, Gloria Prewitt, Janet Barto and Virgina Wible.
Beverly was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
ZAVACKY — Friends of Beverly Anne Elder Zavacky, who died Friday, April 18, 2025, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 105 Kohler Ave., Lyndora. The Rev. Radko Blichar will officiate.
Interment will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Butler.
A Parastas service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
