Harry Klann Sr., 82, of Huntington Beach, Calif., formerly of Butler, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025.

Born Oct. 28, 1942, in Serbanovka, Ukraine, he was the son of the late Herbert Klann and Olga (Semke) Klann.

Harry was a 1962 graduate of Butler High School. Following high school, he worked as a trackman for Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad and most recently as a warehouseman for Ralphs Grocery Company, where he retired in 1999.

Harry was a proud father and grandfather known for his good looks, athleticism, artistic talent, sense of humor, his remarkable ability to communicate with animals, and his love of the Bundesliga (German soccer league), especially his favorite team, VfL Wolfsburg.

In his younger years, he swam and played football for Butler High School, and later, he played soccer for Steubenville and Harmarville, in the Keystone League.

He is survived by his daughter, Heidi Klann, and her husband, Scott Roebuck, of Huntington Beach, Calif.; his grandson, Eric, of Seal Beach, Calif.; his granddaughter, Kelby, and her husband, Kane Manning, of Garden Grove, Calif.; his great-granddaughters, Kaytin, Keeley and Kooper; his son, Harry Klann Jr. and wife, Jody, of Aledo, Texas; his grandsons, Harrison and Jared of Santa Monica, Calif. and Emmett of Aledo; two sisters, Erma Fontaine and Irene Wood of Butler; three brothers, Manfred Klann of Butler, Helmut Klann of Foley, Ala. and Robert Klann of Huntersville, N.C.; as well as many favorite nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five of his brothers, Walter Klann, Erwin Klann, Gerhard Klann, Eric Klann and Bernhard Klann; and his sister, Margaret Ratz.

KLANN — All services and burial for Harry Klann Sr., who died Sunday, April 13, 2025, will be held privately.
