One person was taken to a hospital following a Tuesday afternoon crash on Route 422 near the East Jefferson Street exit in Summit Township, state police said.

A tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle crashed just before 2 p.m. resulting in emergency responders closing a small section of Route 422 east around the crash site.

A witness, Mandy Libecco, said she saw the crash take place and helped the injured person.

“I saw it happen and assisted by holding C-spine (neck) and getting vitals until EMS arrived,” Libecco said.

The Herman, East Butler and Butler Township volunteer fire departments, East Butler Ambulance Service, county hazardous materials team and Butler Township police also responded to the crash.
